Only this is my PEA blog. Welcome to Picky Eaters Anonymous. I am not the picky eater in question, but I live with’ em and heck, me and my kind need a support group!
I hope to post here about food tips, recipes, and general nutritional information as the mood strikes. I also come across behavioral tips for planning and serving meals from time to time and those will be included. I am trying to lose weight in the midst of all this glorious chaos, so, well, bear with me! I am sure there will be soul searching posts about If-chocolate-is-the-meaning-of-life-why-can’t-I-have-any variety.
The PEA Blog Inaugural food tip:
If your picky eaters won’t touch apples because they may have a soft spot, or a fleck of something that may indicate that said apple came off a tree at one point, here is a tasty tip so those apples don’t end up in the disposer.
Core, peel and cut them up – doesn’t really matter how many you have. Put them in a sauce pan with about a cup of water and simmer them until them can be mashed with a fork. Take them off the heat and let them cool. After your homemade applesauce has cooled, flavor it with fresh berries. I used a three berry blend that consisted of blueberries, marionberries, and blackberries. I heated up a cup in the microwave – just enough to get them good and mushy, them mixed them in with the applesauce. Very tasty!
